Lanyards are used all over the world especially at work and where security is an issue. It’s a kind of cord or strap that is generally worn around the neck to hold on to something valuable, like a photo ID card for example. In school, your coach would wear a whistle that’s attached to a lanyard. Olympic medallists on the podium receive their medals that are attached to lanyards and worn around the neck. Lanyards are used frequent in school field trips. Looking after students is a big responsibility. When going out on field trips, the use of lanyards can help keep everyone safely organized. Since lanyards can come in various colours, this helps with arranging students in groups or teams and makes the teacher’s job (or whoever is chosen as a leader) a little bit easier.
